Sweet Sunshine Sachet

Materials Required: CLARK'S O.N.T. BEST SIX CORD MERCERIZED CROCHET, Art. B.4, Size 30: 1 ball of No. 9 Yellow. Milwards Steel Crochet Hook No. 10. 1/2 yard of narrow white lace. 1 yard of red grosgrain ribbon, 5/8 inch wide. Cotton and sachet. Piece of yellow material for lining.
Chain (ch), single crochet (sc), double crochet (d c), stitch (st)
- Starting at back make a chain 2-1/2 inches long. 1st row: Dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in next 18 ch, 3 dc in next ch, dc in next 20 ch. Cut off remaining chain. Ch 3, turn.
- 2nd and 3rd rows: Skip first dc, dc in each dc across, dc in top of turning chain. Ch 3, turn.
- 4th to 10th rows incl: Dc in first dc (inc made), dc in each dc to within 1 dc of center dc, 2 dc in next dc, dc in center dc, 2 dc in next dc, dc in each remaining dc across, 2 dc in top of turning chain. Ch 3, turn,
- 11th to 16th rows incl: Holding back on hook the last loop of each dc make dc in next 4 dc, thread over and draw through all loops on hook (3 dc decreased), dc in each dc to within 1 dc of center dc, 2 dc in next dc, dc in center dc, 2 dc in next dc, dc in each remaining dc to within last 4 sts, work off last 4 sts as 1 dc. Ch 3, turn.
- Break off at end of 16th row. Attach thread to side of end dc on first row, sc closely around three sides, ending at end dc on opposite side of first row. Ch 1, turn. Sc in each sc across. Break off.
Gather lace to fit around entire Bonnet. Sew in place. Cut lining material slightly larger than Bonnet. Turn under small hem and sew neatly to Bonnet, placing cotton and sachet between lining and Bonnet. Fold in half and sew up back. Trim with ribbon.
