Lucky Leaf Sachet

You

Materials
Required: CLARK'S O.N.T. "BRILLIANT," 1 ball for each sachet. Steel
crochet hook No.10.1/4 yard ribbon, 5/8 inch wide. A piece of satin 3 x
6 inches.
Chain (ch), single crochet (sc), double crochet (d c), stitch (st)
- LEAF
(Make 2): Starting at Center, ch 35. 1st row: Sc in 2nd ch from
hook and in each ch across, ch 3, sc in same place as last sc; now
working along opposite side of foundation ch, make sc in each ch across
to last 4 sc, do not work in last 4 sts (this end is tip of leaf). Ch
5, turn. Hereafter work only in the back loop of each Sc.
- 2nd
row: Sc in each sc across to the ch-3, in ch-3 loop make sc, ch 3 and
sc (this end is base of leaf) ; Sc in each sc across to last 4 sc. Ch
5, turn. Repeat the 2nd ow 8 more times. Now work sc in each sc across
to ch-3 loop at base of leaf, sI st in loop. Fasten off.
- Make
another piece same as this. Place leaves together matching
corresponding parts and sew along edges, leaving ch.5 loops free and
stuffing with Cotton and sachet before opening becomes too small. Now
work over corresponding loops of both leaves as follows: Attach thread
to 1st 2 loops (one of each leaf), thus joining loops together, ch 3,
dc in same place, ch 5, holding back on hook the last loop of each dc,
make 2 dc in same place, thread over and draw through all loops on hook
(cluster made), and continue making cluster, ch 5 and cluster in each
set of corresponding loops along edge at tip of leaf. Fasten off.
- Cut
ribbon in half and run one piece through cluster edging at tip and tack
ends to back. If desired ribbon rosebuds may be added. Form a loop with
remainder of ribbon and fasten to base of leaf.
