| In this eventful season all eyes are on Hollywood celebrities walking down the red carpet at this year’s award ceremonies. At recent Hollywood awards red carpet walks, the new trends for 2008 prom dresses were previewed and bejeweled and strong colors and very feminine styles have emerged. And there was one that was the color for Prom 2008 and that was purple. Ornate beadings with jeweled accents are the other big story. Jewels sewn onto straps and bodices for an ultra-glamorous look are new trendsetting designs. Celebrity prom dresses are in fashion now and girls are curious to catch up with the celebrity fashion trend Cate Blancehett and Rene Zellwegger are two such best actors who are not only known for their best acting skills but also known what to wear in high profile parties and ceremony just like in Oscar show. The designers of these actors just knew what they have to design for their client as both were looking absolutely stunning in there gowns. Where Cate Blancehett looked gorgeous in her tough-to-pull-off banana yellow Valentino couture gown that went well with her pale complexion and delicate figure Rene Zellwegger was enchanting her admirers with her red gown that gave more shimmering look to her figure. |
| Catwalk designs for the prom dresses in 2008 are comparatively more beautiful than ever with designs that could be worn on or off the catwalk, this seasons designers have really come up with some winning fashions. Contrasting monochromatic colors of black and white were seen on the catwalk in Paris, London and New York - so expect these to be gracing the stores shortly. Worn with black tights and shades, this is the cool look for a hot summer. The catwalk sported some stunning short dresses - particularly notable are designs by Dolce & Gabbana, Charles Deacon, Antonio Berardi and Chanel. There's a real Jane Austen look about some of the soft dresses this season. Chiffon is layered to create a wonderful soft look with puff sleeves and extensive tulles. There's also a dramatic edge to some of the designs. There was lots of bright yellow on the catwalks this season along with metallic dresses in gold and silver. Small or large prints are both popular - bright or more subtle coloring will both work. |
| The Pageant prom dresses are also very inspiring and the Jovani, Niteline, Alyce, and Marc Bouwer designer ranges are worth fixing eyes on. The hottest prom dresses of the season have an intoxicating combination like in some they have some design elements that are revealing, while others are made simple but with some twists in the designing. For example, a simple taffeta gown may have a sweetheart bodice and a front slit. The back, however, may be bare with only a crisscross of rhinestones. Similarly, a silk sating gown may have a halter top with beaded French netting wrapping the waist line. The halters have beaded straps that look good on an otherwise bare back |
